Professional courteous staff excellent food everytime I go here during my travels Im always satisfied.
Most of our food was good. One dish was not (4-cheese pasta had a strange taste), but they replaced it with something else. Good service. Reasonable price.
The food was good and the portions were just right. Our server was very attentive, and made sure to check back after we had gotten our food to take care of refills. The seating host was polite and prompt in acknowledging us, even though he was busy getting other people seated. Overall, the staff and food were 5/5, even on a very busy night.
My friends and I were in York to get some food. My friend's parents were also at Applebees. My friends ended up having them pay for their meal. Well as soon as they figured out they were parents of some of our group, they told them that they thought we were going to Dine N Dash. They had our table on watch. A waiter or waitress would walk by every minute or so, more than usual. My friend's parents talked to them and they realized they were wrong they came up to us and apologized. Other than that the waiter was nice and the food was good but I don't think I will be going back, and because of that I am giving them a one star review.
Of the Applebee's locations that I have been to, this was far and above the nicest. Go in with the knowledge that this is a step up from fast food, but still a chain restaurant that specializes in quick food. For how small the footprint is, there is a surprisingly large amount of seating, but it isn't cramped. The night we went was a game night for the Huskers, so there were a ton of people in enjoying the game on the TVs. The crowd was lively, but in no way rowdy; our dining experience was not negatively impacted in any way.
The district manager was present at this location. In the table next to mine, there was a problem with the food and the customer asked the district manager why her food was not there yet. The rest of the party had their food and was eating. The manager explained that there were issues in the kitchen. The customer explained she had been waiting for a long time for the food. The DISTRICT manager then proceeded to yell at the customer and tell her not to curse at her when the customer had been very understanding and just asking a question. Another customer was sympathetic and talked to the first customer. The manager then came over and told the first customer to leave because she was making a seen. The customer never spoke louder then regular tones and the manager was raising her voice. I will never stop at this Applebees again because of the poor customer service.
